2nd in the Southeast Region

Picture from last year...
It is official, for the second year in a row I am ranked second in the region. Last year was my first year racing XTERRA and since then I have made significant improvements. I was stuck in the 3rd place (age group) spot at almost every race and this year I have finished mostly 2nd (ag). Not bad since the competition seems to be increasing every year. The sport of XTERRA Off-road triathlon is getting more and more popular. The real bummer is that I lead almost the entire season ranked #1 in the region until about a month ago when there where only two more races in the southeast. I look forward to the day I bring home the regional champ jersey. For now I plan on racing against the clock in Tahoe for Nationals. Last year I qualified for Nationals and did the race as sort of a "pre-race" year to see how I would do. This year I am just out to beat last years time and of course as many people I can. My swimming is a lot faster since I have been coached (1 hour with prior Olympic champion Angel Martino) has made a huge difference. Not to mention my newer, lighter Top Fuel 9.8 TREK (Thank you for the help...Travis Goodman, Trek Regional Manager), and of course my sponsor GU for all the great gear and GU/GU2O that anyone could ever need. Did I mention that GU2O is better than Gatorade. One more thing, my wife's love and support that keeps me going daily while putting up with my training regimen. With out her help this year I couldn't have accomplished all that I have done. As race director this year I put on the XTERRA Smith Lake race here in my current home town of Fayetteville, North Carolina. To top it off I have had one heck of a good race season. Thank you all!!! Check back to see how I have done at Nationals.
