Training it up!

Yesterday I tried out my new XTERRA wetsuit and all I have to say is...it's crazy fast. Glad I did try it out too, never having tried one it can fatigue your shoulders a little. A few more swims and I'll be golden. I wont tell you how fast I was because I don't believe it myself. I'll let you know after the Tahoe race if it really does work.

This morning I rode with a guy at the local bike shop (Steve) and he brought out his Fisher 29er SS. It is unbelievable how fast that bike rolls for only a single speed. A 29er may be what I use next season, with more gears of course. We rode a fast but easy 18 miles at an 10.5 mph average. I am only 4 days away from leaving for Tahoe to race Nationals so its taper time. I will probably do 3 more rides and one more long run mixed with some short runs and my usual swim routine before I go. The swim is the only part of training I do not taper for. Just doesn't work for me. I am really excited about this years trip because I have a lot more family that's going to be there. Last year my wife couldn't go due to work but this year she can so that is also a plus. It just isn't the same if people you know are not there.
