Hmmmm.....rest.


Yup... you guessed it. That is what I did today after my morning swim. After waking up early feeling sore from a possible over-training day in the gym I thought the best thing I could do is swim and loosen up. I usually over train and hardly ever take days off. From much internet athlete profile reading, rest is a key factor in recovery and gains...go figure. I always thought they said that so they would have a leg up on me:) Anyway, I have been reading some interesting things online about nutrition... it has not been a focus in previous seasons that I stick to a strict diet but I think it is something that will hold valuable later in the season. Currently I am on this whole wheat pasta kick with some kick ass homemade sauce loaded with crushed nuts, tomatoes, zucchini, some lemon, feta cheese, and extra virgin olive oil. It is pretty good...did I mention that? Anyway, back to the research, this Paleo Diet stuff...anyone ever heard of it? I plan on buying this book to see what they have to say. I have probably read everything about it already via the internet but knowledge never hurt anyone.
Tomorrow is another day back into my pre-season training, I will probably do some brick work in the morning before I put a couple hours in on our local trail that is in need of some maintenance. Man I wish I got paid to do that. Fortunately I will have some help tomorrow so it wont be numero uno out there again. Even though I have taken two days off of training my totals this week surpass what I had done last week...in case you were wondering. Oh yah...anyone going to Greensboro next weekend better be able to ride...you know who I am talking about:) PEACE!!!
