Sooooo, Tahoe (Race Day) is about 11 days away and I have been doing a bit of climbing... I found a so called mountain here in Texas called Steamboat Mt. Its steepest point is about 17% grade...not bad really. The guys at the local shop say that the best riders in town can only do it about 3 times... I entertained the idea of doing it 4 times today but then ended up doing 5 total repeats. Its approximately 1.35 miles from bottom to top and a total acsent of 400ft. So what I climbed today is almost the total ascending that needs to be accomplished race day, but off-road. I plan on doing this same routine Saturday with 10 repeats and an additional 20 miles of riding. So lets add this up, 7 miles to get to the base of the mountain 10 reapeats and then another 20 miles...soooo a 40 mile ride w/approx. 4 to 5k of climbing....cant wait:) This shall be my last hard workout on the bike before tapering for race day....
PEACE!
