Race Report
It was a muddiest race I'd ever ridden in... Heritage Park 6hr MTB race. The night prior to the race we had two tornado's touch down in Atlanta along with some heavy rain which left the course a big clay mess. It was a lot of fun but feeling a bit under the weather...it wore me down and I had nothing to answer to mother nature. I finished 7th out of 23. Not what I had really intended on doing but I am happy that I did the race. I took my GPS to track all of my totals and in 4 laps my total ascending tallied 8890 feet...which is pretty crazy, that means there was a little over 2000 feet of climbing each 8.5 mile loop. All in all...after I get over this cold I have some serious work to do the next 6 weeks before my first XTERRA race at Ft. Yargo in GA. Lots of speed training and race day simulations...DO IT!
