At least I am consistent... I placed 2nd in my age group and 13th overall. I was only two minutes away from second place, and the guy who beat me out was from Colorado and one heck of a swimmer. He ended up beating me out of the water by six minutes (his swim time 12:53 for 1k), I gained 5 minutes on the bike and lost one minute to him on the run. It was one heck of a battle but of course with XTERRA you really never know who is right ahead of you. This is why you always have to be on top of your game. Needless to say I had a strong race, and probably one of the best bike splits I have logged on an XTERRA course. My swim was average but not what I should have had especially considering what my swim training results are. I am usually a 16 minute 1k, and this time was 18:50. That alone could have secured me the race. All I can do is get ready for Richmond now, and do what I love most. Train, train, train. Here are some pictures from the event...
