Good Training & Bad Crashes

Well, I started training hard after my rest week/vacation...until yesterday. I was hanging tough with one of my buddies (who is marginally faster than I) and on the last 100 meters of trail, I wiped out pretty spectacularly. Too bad no one saw it or got it on video. The sand is really loose out on the trail and cornering is quite the chore. Unfortunately, I became complacent or too cocky, no matter I crashed. I slid on both wheels and my front wheel slammed into a stump which launched me straight up in the air while being clipped (couldn't get out fast enough) and I buried my knee right into the same stump that tossed me. Not cool...so whatever adrenaline was pumping made me get up and walk a bit which really didn't work so I pedaled out only pushing with one leg. I am left with a huge knot on my knee and some bruising but hope to get on the bike again tomorrow morning. If there is one thing that I really hate, it would have to be inactivity. Sometimes forced rest is the best but this isn't my favorite. I have got lots of work to do before my next race in a few weeks. Thanks for reading my gripes/whining/humor?, it's only funny when its not you:) PEACE!!!
