When I went to GA, I was fortunate enough to get some coaching in the pool by an ex-Olympic athlete Angel Martino. She has helped me in the past and this time we worked on body position and speed in the water. I feel much more confident and hope a week of training the way I have been shown pays big dividends.
As for the riding, I got to try two new trails in the GA area that I have never ridden. The First was the Hawk Effigy Trail... needless to say it has some good sections and some gnarly sections. Its definitely a good workout but not a whole lot of enjoyment goes on there. The second trail was by far the most fun I have had in years on the old mountain bike. The trail system is called FATS and is located in Augusta, GA. There is about 40 miles of single track and I was told it was built in 2006. Anywho, I rode 25 miles of it and every inch was putting a smile on my face. Its like riding a roller coaster with minimal climbing and lots of downhill. Much like a pump track, you could either launch over everything and scrub your speed or just keep pushing and building your speed. I am glad I brought my Gary Fisher Paragon, its like that course was built for 29er's:) You know what I am talking about!
Thats it for now, I am getting ready for XTERRA EX2...my favorite XTERRA in the XPS. PEACE!!!!
