Lower Profile Knobbed Tires Kill More Ants...

This may be the case but it also makes you a little faster on the trail...maybe, too fast. I had a little crash today is really what I am getting at. I was trying out my XDX Bontrager tires on my 29er race wheels and was having a good ride up until my crash. My over-confidence made me slip up a bit and also made me realize I had to run an even lower pressure to get the right grip. I normally run 30psi in my training tires (Bontrager Jones) and had to run an even lower than rated pressure to get the right feel today. Of course, this was post crash realization. I lowered my rear tire to 28psi, and the front to 25psi...after another lap on the course I think I got it just right. Unfortunately my knee cap is a bit bruised and will keep me from my run tonight. Guess I will ice it and hopefully ride the local MTB time trial tomorrow. Here is a look at my Garmin summary today...LATER!
